Steam Trap Manufacturers in India

Efficient steam systems run on high quality steam traps for the condensate, air, and non condensable gas removal which also in turn which prevent live steam loss. As a primary Steam Trap Manufacturers in India Speciality Valve presents to you our reliable steam trap solutions which we have developed for power generation, pharmaceutical, food processing and textile sectors.
What Is a Steam Trap?
A steam trap is a kind of automatic valve which takes out condensate and air from steam systems at the same time it does not let live steam out. It improves steam quality and system efficiency by which only condensate is removed.
Function of Steam Trap
The steam trap is designed to continuously remove condensate and air and at the same time it holds in the steam which in turn prevents water hammer and maximizes heat transfer.
Steam Trap Working Principle
Steam traps function via the difference in density between steam and condensate. As condensate enters the trap it is the trigger for actions which may include float, diaphragm, or thermal elements to put it out. Upon the introduction of steam the trap closes which in turn creates a self regulating which in turn improves performance.
Types of Steam Traps
- Mechanical (Float and Thermostatic Inverted Bucket) works via density changes which cause the valve to open for condensate and close for steam also has an air vent.
- Temperature Actuated Traps use elements which release condensate when it drops just below steam temperature.
- Thermodynamic Traps (Disc Type) Base our automatic operation on changes in dynamic pressure at the point of condensate discharge, very durable and compact.
Components of a Steam Trap Valve
- We use cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel for these which we form into shape also we designed them for high pressure and temp.
- In and out ports for steam and condensate in the trap.
- Valve which lets out condensate and which at other times closes to contain steam.
- Paddle or Thermometric Disc which act on the steam from the condensate that in turn operates the valve.
- Seat Seal which is for tight fit to prevent steam escape.
- Strain Out Filter keeps dirt and debris out of the valve.
- Cover Cap For maintenance and inspection.
Difference Between Steam Trap and Float Trap
A float trap is a type of mechanical steam trap. Although all float traps are steam traps by large scale, not all steam traps are float traps. Steam traps also include the thermostatic and thermodynamic types which we see to not include the float element in their design while float traps do.
Applications of Steam Traps
Steam traps are present in:
- Steam main drainage and protective trap systems.
- Drier, exchanger, press (process equipment) that also include traps.
- High pressure and sanitary designed (balanced pressure, stainless steel).
- Tracking issues in food and pharma.
- Boiler manifolds’ drainage and condensate return systems.
Why Choose Speciality Valve - Steam Traps
- Wide selection: Mechanical, thermal, thermodynamic, isobars, float traps.
- Built with the best of what is available in terms of materials cast iron and stainless steel for use in industrial settings.
- Custom designed for condensate capacity, pressure and temperature ranges.
- Strong in our after sales support which includes trap sizing, testing and steam audits.
- Proven to save energy we have improved our condensate removal which in turn has reduced steam loss.
- Industrial Use of Steam Trap Valve - Textile Mills
In textile processing what we see in steam traps is the removal of condensate from drying cylinders and calender rolls. What we find is that efficient removal of condensate is to the point for consistent fabric drying and to also prevent backpressure or damage. Float and thermostatic traps we put forward for their rapid response to variable load also for air release at start up.
Other Industry Uses:
- Oil and in Gas Refineries Condensate out during steam based distillation.
- In the Food and Beverage Industry we see to it that steam is of proper quality for cooking, sterilizing and packaging.
- Power generation which sees a reduction in condensate carryover improves turbine performance.
- Textile Industry releases steam which is used in dyeing, drying and finishing.
- Pharma Plants is a provider of pure steam for sterilization of equipment and products.
- Marine Industry reports that we have improved on boiler performance and also we have seen reduction in water hammer at sea.
- In the chemical and petrochemical industry we control steady process temperatures in reactors and distillation columns.
- Hospitals in our health care we offer dry sterile steam for sterilizers and autoclaves.
- Brewing industry in which steam control is used in mashing and fermentation.
- In the Rubber and Plastic Industry we use steam in our molding and curing processes.
