Quordle's author, Freddie Mayer, said that the puzzle was inspired by Dordle, since developers had a great time playing something more difficult than Wordle, but "still found it uncommon to fail to guess both words in seven attempts."
The tricky word game challenges players to solve two five-letter words as the clues emerge on both problems at the same time. While Wordle allows players six opportunities to identify one word, Dordle offers you seven attempts to guess both words, adding to the complexity.
Guilherme Tows, an independent game developer working under the moniker Zaratustra Productions, created Dordle. Tows credits Wordle with inspired Dordle, which he describes as "wordle plus wordle."
