In 2024, the Orionid meteor shower should rain down its greatest number of meteors on the mornings of October 20 and 21. The morning of October 21 might bring the richest display of meteors.
The Orionids are known for their bright meteors and are produced by debris left behind by Halley's Comet.
Under good conditions, you can expect to see about 20 meteors per hour during the peak, especially in dark areas away from city lights.
